About Me, Celia Luzar

I started learning the piano as a child, and have continued learning ever since, enjoying every minute of it. Whilst at school, I completed Grade 8 in Piano and Grade 8 in Music Theory. 

I went on to complete a BA degree in Music.

I continue to challenge myself by learning new pieces on the piano and new skills, as I believe learning and improving is a lifelong activity.

I started teaching piano in the early 1990's and thoroughly enjoy it. I try to help each student to reach the best of their abilities. Sometimes, this is helped with taking examinations, whilst for other students it is with the overall improvement and enjoyment gained.

I have some experience teaching piano to children with a variety of special needs. Please do contact me to discuss your individual child - I am always happy to be flexible in my approach to accommodate different situations.

I have undertaken a variety of roles in music over the years. In addition to playing the piano, I also play the Church Organ, and do a large amount of singing. My experience includes: 

• Playing the piano for ballet and dance classes at a dance school for some years
• Musical director and pianist for an amateur dramatics group
• Singing in many different choirs, both secular and Church Choirs, amateur and professional
• Playing the piano and singing songs at a local care home for older residents
• Playing the organ in various Churches - including currently playing the organ at a local village Church near Bicester
